Strands
The purpose of this qualification is to provide the forest industry with individuals who have the skills and knowledge required to operate at a production level within their chosen discipline, in an operational role in a commercial forest harvesting. Graduates will have an understanding of the safety and environmental and quality requirements of working in a forest harvesting. They will work under limited supervision to meet commercial productivity requirements. The qualification includes four strands that represent distinct activities undertaken in harvesting operations.
