The purpose of this qualification is to provide the plastics processing industry with people who have the skills and knowledge required to work as an operator or processor under general supervision in a plastics processing operation.
This qualification is designed for people already working in the plastics processing industry or people wishing to complete a pre-trade qualification before entering the industry.
The qualification includes optional strands in Blown Film Extrusion, Extrusion, Extrusion Blow Moulding, Injection Moulding, Injection Stretch Blow Moulding, Rotational Moulding, or Thermoforming.
Each strand recognises the knowledge and skills required to work and operate plant and equipment safely within a specialised area within plastics processing.
